Wedding Trend Alert: Pin-Up Girl Photo Shoot

Last week, a friend of mine asked me if I had heard about the latest wedding trend of “pin-up girl” photo shoots.  To my surprise, I had heard of this from none other than our head designer, Liz Fields.  Liz’s friend Kasia (whose garden tea party bridal shower was mentioned in the blog last month) had a pin-up girl bachelorette party just a few weekends ago!

I love this wonderful and different idea for a bachelorette party.  Who needs male strippers when you can make your girls and yourself feel beautiful, and have lasting proof to show off too!

Liz attended GWU with Kasia, and was lucky enough to be included to the bachelorette party even though she is not in the bridal party because she designed Kasia’s bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses, which will be unveiled in a blog towards the end of August!

This is a picture of Liz Fields, Kasia, and Kasia’s sister Agata

The party was hosted at Kasia’s house in Long Island NY.  There was professional hair and make-up available for everyone and a photography studio was set up in one of the emptier rooms of their house.  Everybody brought outfits,  pieces of costumes, accessories, shoes, etc and consolidated them into one “dress-up” room where girls could change as many times as they wanted throughout the night and get some shots taken.

Liz said that the photography women were amazing – ready with props and made it very easy and comfortable to pose.  They were especially good with telling each girl what to do and how to change their pose to make them look their best.

Would you consider a pin-up girl bachelorette party?  I know I am.  What are some interesting bachelorette party trends that you have heard about?

  1. I really loved this post. You describe this topic very well. There are many precious moments in life, why not wear a remarkable dress! When looking back on photos of your loved one wearing a striking dress, it will put a smile on your face.

  2. I really like your taste, the inescapable fact that your webpage is a little bit distinctive makes it so intriguing, I get completely fed up of seeing the same stuff just about all of the time. I’ve I just happened on this site by you Thanks a lot.

  3. Liz – Your website and Blog are Awesome! I agree, Kasia’s Bachelorette party was a great idea and very memorable ! I can’t wait to see your post about the wedding.. Kasia looked STUNNING in the dress you designed . And the bridesmaids too.. I saw one girl during cocktail hour and told my boyfriend “Look how pretty her dress is”, then I saw another girl with the same dress.. took a few seconds to realize they were bridesmaids! Great Job :-)

Your wedding was awesome. You are such an incredible woman, inside and out, so it’s no wonder that the wedding was a gorgeous reflection of you and your wonderful family.

    XOXOXO
Meg–Thank you so much! Let me know when it’s your turn. xoxo

  6. I like your pin-up shots. They’re fun without being too trashy! I know a lot of brides who are forgetting about the night of debauchery and leaning toward more fun stuff they can actually remember the next day, like the traditional sleep over or themed parties.

  7. I’m entering my 2nd yr in the photography industry and I’m discovering new things all the time, such as this posting – thank you for this blog. – Jennifer

  8. It’s absolutely fantastic to be present at a wedding ceremony and I have a wedding to attend during the weekend. My friend is finally tying the knot and has sought my help for certain wedding related information. I was looking for ideason theme weddings, wedding venues, wedding decorations, dresses, wedding speeches and toasts and all sorts of other wedding stuffs. I can see that your site is quite resourceful. I think me and my friend is going to benefit from your blog.

  9. I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading.
